The political landscape in Bihar is poised for a significant development as Rajshree Yadav, the daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and wife of Tejashwi Yadav, is reportedly gearing up to enter politics. With two Rajya Sabha seats from the RJD quota becoming vacant, speculations are rife that Rajshree may be nominated for one of them. Tejashwi Yadav and Rajshree, who got married in 2021, share a connection from their school days at DPS School in RK Puram, New Delhi.

Rajshree, previously known as Rachel, hails from a Christian family in Rewari, Haryana, and has a background as an air-hostess. As the Election Commission issues a notification for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar on February 27, the Yadav family's move to bring Rajshree into the political arena adds a new dimension to the electoral dynamics.

With Bihar's political landscape undergoing shifts, the Grand Alliance is currently in the opposition due to recent party changes by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The BJP-led NDA is expected to secure three seats comfortably in the upcoming elections, considering their numerical strength. The BJP state president and Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, has confirmed the party's intent to field two candidates, supporting the JDU in securing one seat.
